PRESS RELEASE: Automotive EMC 2003 Mixes Old with New
|
The Automotive EMC 2003 conference, being held on 6th November this year at the Marriot-Courtyard Hotel in Milton Keynes, will be giving a copy of "Automobile Electricity" from September 1926 to one of the conference delegates. The "antique" journal will be collected by the delegate who finds a special prize ticket hidden in their copy of the conference proceedings. The prize will be presented during the lunch break at the conference and illustrates just how far automotive electronics have come; in 1926 the biggest issue in the auto-electrical world was maintaining a charge in your 6V battery and adding extras to your vehicle such as a horn and lamps! The conference in November will be addressing much more up-to-date issues regarding the state-of-the-art with respect to automotive EMC; "e"-marking and standards, meeting the transient requirements of a modern automobile, the effect of modern wireless communications systems in-vehicle, simulating complete vehicle systems and test techniques to cover the plethora of testing required by vehicle manufacturers.

There is also a 1931 copy of "Automobile Electricity" that will be presented after the conference to the presenter of the "best paper" as voted by the delegates on the day.
The Automotive EMC 2003 conference is the only conference dedicated to EMC in the automotive environment. It is run by engineers for engineers. The aim of the conference is to bring together professional automotive electronic and electrical engineers working for vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and EMC service providers, to discuss the current and future EMC standards and to understand the requirements placed on the automotive electrical designer to meet these standards. The conference is being run on a not-for-profit basis and the delegate fee of £100 (+VAT) includes lunch, tea/coffee breaks and a copy of the proceedings. |
