PRESS RELEASE: Automotive EMC 2003 Award for "Best Paper"

Mr Peter Hartnett of Transparent Engineering was the winner of "Best Paper" at the Automotive EMC 2003 conference held on 6th November 2003. The vote for best paper was made by the delegates at the conference, hence the presentation was held after the event once votes were counted. The presentation was made at another seminar Mr Hartnett was giving on "42V Vehicle Electrical Systems" for the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), Automotive Division at Cranfield University on 17th January 2004.

The winning paper "EMC - Who's Job is it Anyway?" looked at the potential cost benefits of scaling the EMC design of an automotive product to meet specific automotive requirements and avoiding over-engineering a product. The IMechE Automotive Division were co-sponsors of the Automotive EMC 2003 conference and Mr John Robertson of their Luton Branch did the honors of presenting the framed certificate and an antique (1931) copy of "Automotive Electricity" to Mr Hartnett as the prize for his paper.
The Automotive EMC 2004 conference will be held on 12 October 2004 alongside the EMC UK 2004 conference at Newbury Racecouse, Newbury, England. |
