PRESS RELEASE: Automotive EMC 2006 Conference Co-locates with NEEDS 2006

The Automotive EMC Network is pleased to announce it is to co-locate it’s highly successful technical conference alongside the National Electrical and Electronic Directives Show (NEEDS) 2006 at the NEC, Birmingham , UK on Wednesday 17th May 2006 .  The Automotive EMC 2006 Conference aims to bring together design engineers, EMC specialists and test service providers to share information on the latest standards, test methods and design practices for achieving EMC compliance in the automotive environment.  The conference organisers believe this targeted audience approach has synergies with the NEEDS approach and the two events have sufficiently different audience segments to be complementary without competing for delegates.

The events are being held at the same time as Drives and Controls 2006, Electrex, Air-Tech, Weldex, MACH 2006 and Subcon 2006 exhibitions, offering their delegates an unrivalled conference and exhibition opportunity (www.drivesexpo.com).  In the automotive arena the number of motors on vehicle is rising rapidly and the Drives & Control exhibition in particular will contain many relevant technologies on display.  Similarly the control of EMC from motors in the harsh operating conditions of an automobile could see many designers of these systems wanting to get a better understanding of the requirements of the automotive EMC environment.  There are similar synergies with most of the other exhibitions as well and the Automotive EMC Network feel there will be numerous opportunities for the delegates of Automotive EMC 2006 to explore these trade exhibitions and discover additional business opportunities at the NEC next May.

The Automotive EMC 2006 conference has been organised to bring together vehicle manufacturers, their suppliers, EMC test houses and electronic circuit designers involved with automotive electronic design.  Many of the existing EMC conferences are too generic for the practitioners of automotive EMC to gain useful information from, consequently a niche conference aimed at this specific market sector was devised after the launch of the Automotive EMC professional network in April 2003 (www.autoemc.net).

The conference aim is to bring together design engineers, EMC specialists and test service providers to share information on the latest standards, test methods and design practices for achieving EMC compliance in the automotive environment.
